The war in Gaza is wiping out education and knowledge systems'
All schools in Gaza have been closed for 625,000 students for 6 months. According to the
Ministry of Education, as of 2 April, more than 5,479 students and 261 teachers have been
killed in the Gaza Strip since 7 October. So The children of Gaza have been deprived of
living life like other children around the world.
When children are out of school for a long period, their learning does not just stop but is
also likely to regress. We know from previous crises that the longer children are out of
school, the greater the risk that they do not return. This risks their prospects in the longer-
term, including their income, and their mental and physical health, while they may also be
at greater risk from violence and abuse.
Also. Education in emergencies is an essential part of the first phase of a quality child-
focused humanitarian response. Based on our knowledge of the importance of education.
The IESC (the International Foundation for Education, Science and Culture) in Malaysia
seeks to launch the educational relief project... "We live with education"... which aims to
compensate for the educational loss of more than 10,000 male and female primary school
students in the Gaza Strip in Studies in Arabic, English, and mathematics.
The project will be implemented within displacement and shelter places and camps in the
north and south of the Gaza Strip in cooperation with relief agencies and institutions in the
Strip. We are trying, despite the pain, violence, and war, to alleviate their suffering, even
with a simple thing, and draw a smile back on their faces because the child, no matter who
he or she is, at any time, under any sky, and on any land, they have the right to live their
childhood. We are working hard, with extremely limited resources to alleviate this huge
burden on them and compensate them for the educational gap that was caused by this
violent war. Because the whole world, regardless of its sects or nationalities, we are all
brothers and sisters.
We are all human. We are all one family. These children have the right for their families
to work together to help them as the world has witnessed this war violently crushing their
dreams and childhoods
The amount will be used for:
. Preparing the educational environment in the targeted schools and shelter centers
. Providing books, notebooks and stationery
. Providing salaries for teachers
. Providing daily meals for children
. Extracurricular recreational activities
